Canon Tech Advance; Fun with Stats

Classic Brynna 10

Canon has announced a new “low-end” dSLR that seems poised to dominate the field: the Rebel T1i. 15.1 megapixel sensor with 14-bit analog-to-digital capture (you may not appreciate the importance of that “14-bit” feature, but believe me, it’s significant!). HD video capture (video on a dSLR! — well, that’s not new, but this makes it available for $800, which is pretty astounding, in that Canon first made video available on their 5D Mark II, at nearly $3,000). Live View (meaning you can view your scene on the back-of-camera display, avoiding use of the viewfinder). ISO up to 12800 with “expander.”

This is an awesome offering, especially given the price, and if the reviews hold up Canon will have a real winner here.
