Sitka National Historical Park 1

(The best part of Sitka, a town much too oriented toward the big-ship tourist trade, was the National Historical Park.  Its trails through a temperate rain forest were beautiful, and the totem poles encountered along the trails very photogenic -- as the next photo shows.

Both these photos were done using HDR, which was particularly well suited to the deep shadows and bright highlights.)
